About

Rev. Ross Riggs, D Min., Chief of Police Retired

‘Doc’ Ross, if he were writing this, (which he is) would say that first and foremost, he loves Christ and without Jesus’ grace and mercy there would be no reason for his existence. But through Christ, Doc has a lovely wife, Karin Riggs who has stuck it out for over forty years of marriage! She is a medical doctor as far as profession but she is a Christ-follower, wife, mom and grandma first!

Ross’ long law enforcement career plus his military (USAFR) and other first responder roles combined with his about 15 years of travelling Central & Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean providing assistance and counsel to missionaries working in very difficult places has given him unique perspectives of life lived with a biblical focus. He has two seminary degrees (M Min. and D Min.) and is an ordained pastor teaching a literal, historical-grammatical hermeneutic of scripture. Those big words simply mean, to understand the Bible as it was intended by the original authors in their historical context.

He also has a MPA, is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and a life Certified Law Enforcement Executive.

All this God has combined to give Doc Ross a unique perspective for pastoral counsel for police, military, fire/EMS first responders and is willing to assist in any way needed.

A father of five, grandfather to 13 all leaving locally provides him with an even deeper perspective on daily life surrounded by lots of others who are also ‘doing life’ during these interesting times!

Ross now serves part-time with the Legacy of Honor, 501c3 which provides assistance to veterans, military, and first responders and their families. Learn more about LoH at http://www.HonorTheLegacy.org
